The Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers about the upcoming tax filing extension deadline. To avoid a possible late filing penalty, those who requested an extension to file their 2022 tax return should file their Form 1040 on or before Monday, Oct. 16.
IRS reminder to storm victims in 3 states: File and pay by Oct. 16; most of California, parts of Alabama and Georgia affected
The IRS today reminded individuals and businesses in most of California and parts of Alabama and Georgia that their 2022 federal income tax returns and tax payments are due on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. The normal due date of April 18 was postponed for many residents of these states in the wake of natural disasters earlier this year.

The Internal Revenue Service announced that the nation's tax season will start on Monday, January 24, 2022, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2021 tax year returns.

People who asked for an extension should file on or before the extension deadline to avoid the penalty for filing late. Electronic filing options, such as IRS Free File, are still available.

IRS: Tax relief now available to victims of Hurricane Ida
Victims of Hurricane Ida that began on August 26 now have until January 3, 2022, to file various individual and business tax returns and make tax payments, the Internal Revenue Service announced today.
September 15: Deadline for Tax Returns with Extension and Estimated Payments
For those who filled a tax extension: Tax returns are due on September 15 for S-Corps and Partnerships. September 15 is as well deadline for Estimated Payments (self-employed and businesses).
Remember! Filing later doesn’t mean paying later. All tax payments and must be done by the deadlines established by the IRS, there are no extensions for payments.
